How a small investment in my pixels can pay off...


EasyDietClinic.com If you're still trying to work out why you should buy some of my pixels - look no further. On this page I'm going to give you an example of one company's Million Loonie Page success, and therefore show how spending only $100 can give you some seriously good bang for your buck.

 

Ok then, David, enough of the marketing spiel, show me the money!


EasyDietClinic.com is a small non-profit web site that promotes healthy eating habits and lifestyles. They help people learn how to make real change in their life to help prevent or even reverse the effects of heart disease and diabetes. This site was created after its founder, Gerry Bakker, had a heart attack and subsequent triple bypass surgery at the age of 48. Gerry was shocked by this because he had always been healthy and a skinny guy who was the last one on all his friend's list of who would have a problem like this. He set about to learn everything he could in the months that followed as he was confined to bed rest during his extended recovery from surgery. The site is a mind blowing and eye opening summary of the things he learned during that recovery. Basically, he  learned that everything he thought he assumed about healthy life habits was wrong.

But like most web masters he found out that the world just wasn't beating a path to his site and always wondered how he could get the best value for his advertising dollar especially since he wasn't looking to make any money on the site - he just wanted to share the knowledge that he felt the rest of us needed.  He decided to give this advertising medium a try. Easydietclinic.com spent $400  and acquired 400 homepage pixels on Monday November 8th, 2005.

On Saturday November 12th, after just 4 days of their 400-pixel ad being on the homepage, I received an e-mail from Easydietclinic.com founder, Gerry Bakker. The results have been dramatic, as Gerry explains:

"We tried the Million Loonie page because we heard about it on the CBC radio interview . We didn't expect
too much from it. Now, as a direct result, we have seen our site traffic increase over a hundred-fold.
It's been exceptional."

 

 

All that from a $400 ad that's been running just 4 days! I was just as surprised to hear Gerry's good news as you probably are. EasyDietClinic.com's success raises some important questions:

  • If that's the response after 4 DAYS of an ad being online, what is the return-on-investment going to be like after 5 YEARS?

  • What's four hundred dollars compared to what EasyDietClinic.com got back: new newsletter subscribers, thousands of click-thrus, association with a unique idea and potential boosted search engine rankings?

  • If a 400-pixel ad can generate that sort of response, what sort of response can a 1,000-pixel, 10,000-pixel or an even bigger ad generate?

Hopefully by now you can see that advertising on the Million Loonie page really does work!
